What do I need to make this chocolate mug cake?
You will be needing all the basic ingredients that you need to make a chocolate cake, therefore flour, cocoa powder, sugar is important.
Now to make the cake rise, you will need a leavening agent and baking powder is for that.
I have added milk to make the cake soft as well as add some flavor to it. The oil will ensure that the cake has a moist and soft texture.
Lastly, I have added some pink salt to enhance the sweetness and bring out the chocolate flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions:
-How to know when mug cake is done?
Yes, this is the only tricky part of the recipe. Every microwave oven is different. You can start with a minute. In my microwave, it took a minute. You need to check it using a skewer.
-Why is my mug cake overflowing?
Happens when you put in too much batter. Make sure you fill only 2/3 rd of the cup. Cup sizes vary, so whichever cup you use, make sure the batter fills 2/3 of the cup.
-Why is my mug cake not enough to fill a mug?
Maybe the mug you chose is too big. These recipes are perfect for one serving and your mug maybe bigger than one serving size, I would recommend putting the batter in another cup or mug rather than placing it all in one big mug. This makes sure the brownie bakes evenly.
-Can I take it out of the mug?
Unfortunately, no. You have to dig right in and enjoy.
-Do I need to grease the mug?
No need for any lining and greasing. Just pour the batter and bake. You should be good.

Hi Alisha! I’m excited to try this recipe, but am wondering how much vanilla to use, as you didn’t specify in the recipe. Thanks, and blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Hi from India! 1/4 tsp vanilla essence should be fine:)
