What equipment do I need to make a tiramisu overnight oats recipe?
A set of teaspoons and tablespoons: This stainless steel measuring spoon set is perfect. I use the one that my pastry college provided to me. I did use the plastic ones but let me tell you, yes they may look boring but stainless steel is best for long-term and safe use.
Big Bowl: I use this one because, when I shoot videos, it reflects the light and you also get to see all the ingredients. It can also be used in the microwave.
A small bowl or a mug- Okay these two are so adorable and perfect for mug recipes. You need to have them in your kitchen right away!
What ingredients do I need to make tiramisu overnight oats recipe?
Let me first explain how I made this oats. So a Tiramisu has ladyfinger sponge that has been soaked in espresso coffee liquor. I am replacing that with the oats over here.
The milk and coffee replaces the espresso coffee liquor that is used. Next, let’s talk about the creamy part of Tiramisu, rich mascarpone cheese filling. Made using egg yolks, hot syrup and mascarpone cheese, we are replacing all of the good stuff with, *drumrolls* yoghurt! Okay you may ask why not hung curd? Because the oats will be absorbing the moisture from the yoghurt to swell up and create structure in the dessert. Instead of hot sugar syrup, we are simply using honey.
As you can see, nowhere close to the authentic Tiramisu but hitting all the points for being delicious and healthy. I say it’s a win-win.
You can use plant milk however, it will alter the taste, I would recommend almond milk. Cashew milk would be perfect but we are trying to be the healthiest version possible. I have used toned milk.
I have used this honey, you can go ahead and choose any other organic honey too.
The cocoa powder is used to dust the top and I prefer using Dutch processed cocoa powder because of it’s smooth taste.
